The book aims at making the undergraduate student of fixed prosthodontics able to diagnose the patient’s problem, present an individualised treatment plan, and carry it out if not to elaborate, or to know when to refer to a specialist. The students learn that fixed prosthodontics does not cure a disease, it can only help to restore ''functio laesa'' (reduced function) whether somatic or emotionally.
